Protecting Your Privacy

This website is supported by the digital advertising industry and is managed by the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA). We are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of all individuals that we interact with: past, present and future. As part of this commitment, we seek to provide you with clear information and control over the personal information we hold about you as well as other non-personal data we may collect and use when you visit this website.

The Website

On this website, we administer a key component of a pan-European self-regulatory programme for online behavioural advertising (a practice of serving more relevant ads to internet users based on inferred interests). This self-regulatory programme provides Internet users like you with a heightened level of transparency and control over online behavioural advertising.

Transparency is provided by a universally recognisable “OBA icon”, available with accompanying text in all official EU languages (a full list with the accompanying text for each official EU language is available here), that will appear wherever companies are collecting and processing data for online behavioural advertising purposes. When clicking on the icon, users will be presented with clear and comprehensible information about online behavioural advertising.

The icon will also give users the ability to exercise choice and control over online behavioural advertising through the tools and resources provided; such tools and resources include this website. This website covers European Union / European Economic Area (EU/EEA) countries, as well as Switzerland and Turkey, and includes an easy-to-use functionality (available to any user from any of those listed countries) that will turn off online behavioural advertising for users (from participating companies) if they so choose. One of the most remarkable features of this website is that it has been built following an industry-wide commitment, backed by the European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) and its network of well-established and widely recognised national advertising Self-Regulatory Organisations across Europe, which work to ensure effective complaint handling systems, independent and free of charge to users.
